NOTICING

We are at the point in our journey that spans between two worlds. The world above; the forest, the mouth of the cave, the world of day to day concerns and the world below; the unknown, the dark, a place of shadows, dreams and visions. Will you cross this threshold blindly or with your mind and senses open?

The Liminal Compass, this journey you are on, is a call to notice. To embark on a path of conscious change in the way we see the world and our part in it with our eyes (and all our senses) wide open. If we are to engage in meaningful change in the way we relate to one another, the species we share space with and the landscapes we call home, we need to weave a new story for ourselves. A collective act of weaving; a new kind of storytelling compelling enough to change our ways.

The biggest threat to the creation of this new story, our sustainable future, is to be found in the threads of old stories carried unconsciously into the new. Where are we perpetuating old habits, old fears, old divisions and inequalities? What are the old narratives that need to be left behind?

As we focus our attention on the great work of this age, this call to re-imagine, the power of simply noticing is one of our most fundamental tools.

There is a time for decision-making. There is a time for action. But first and always we must take notice.
