IN THE VOID
Above the light, colour and sound of the forest fades and quietens. With every length of rope passed through your hands the dial of the surface world is turned a little lower. Below, the floor of the cave and the others that have gone before you are yet to emerge from the darkness. You float, suspended, alone in the void.
In this space of nothing the distractions, the conversations, the events and occurrences that cloak and muffle your senses and your sense of self are absent. All that is within you is present with pin-sharp clarity. Your heart seems to beat louder. Your breath sits at the forefront of your awareness. And around and within it are the fears, hopes and stories of self that are usually crowded out by the world around you. In the void, with just these facets of yourself, there is space to transform. What would happen if we allowed ourselves more time in the in-between; to be neither one thing or another but something or someone in a state of change?
You hang poised between two states. When you reach the ground, the underworld, you could be anything.
